Two Voices
By Sean Adibi
“I wish I could stand tall--I’m deflating--
to tower above all, to make difference.
Laughter signals how I’m isolating
myself, I’ve collapsed, fallen down but since
this won’t persist, I’ll see real changes soon.
Standing at the edge of water, I’ll slip
unable to achieve success, a boon.
Whatever happens, please don’t let me trip.
“Stop. Look around beyond this thin veneer.
If you’re seeking stability, just wait.
Change isn’t always perceived by your peers.
Only few will truly see you walk straight.
If you’re waiting for more strength, stand up--heed.
Don’t let them all impede your inner creed.”
