Collins Response

We could feel the walls,
But we may never find the switch.
Instead, we may walk round and round in the dark
With no directions, no purpose.

We could drop a mouse into the poem
But it may never find its way out.

We could waterski across the surface of a poem
But we may fall into the water
Before reaching the other side.

Only when we beat it with a hose,

Will we get a straight answer without fail.
