Second portrait (girl lying on grass)
I wait for them to see me
they look no further past the yard
they think they should just let us be
to simply glance this way is not hard
I feel his breath upon my shoulder
looking around to no avail
his advancements always getting bolder
I try to stand but again I fail
No one else hears you enter
they never did appreciate you
to me you always were my center
always alone, just us two
they beckon me from the house afar
but I know you’ll leave the door ajar
