Writing Reflection

When I am immersed in reading, I am able to read the pages quickly, understanding what is happening. Wallace said, "One of the things that really good writing does is that it’s able to get across massive amounts of information and various favorable impressions of the communicator with minimal effort on the part of the reader." So when I am immersed in a book it shows good writing on the authors part because they know how to get information to the reader in a fluid way, that flows so it is easy for the reader to find themselves deep in the story. When the reader zones out and subconsciously  reads a page without processing, the writing isn't capturing the attention of the reader.  That is a good reminder for my writing to make sure the words flow so that the reader can grasp information quickly and process.

  1. Would you rather have a book that has better flow of understanding, or one that challenges you to constantly be forcing you to think deeper?
