The image used to describe Sethe and Beloved's relationship shows how Beloved uses Sethe and sucks the memories from her to "feed" on. I really like this metaphor.
The idea of Sethe and Beloved's relationship being parasitic like a leech is interesting. While most people used abstract art for their posts, I like that you all used relationships between animals in nature.
I think using a leech as the relationship between Sethe and Beloved is interesting, because at first I did not think it was that toxic, but then when I saw how attached Beloved is to Sethe, and how much she needs her it might actually be more parasitic than I initially thought.
The picture of the carnivores plant is a good example of Paul D and Beloved. She keeps trying to corner him, as the plant, and he continually tries to escape. For example, Paul D moves farther away from the house, so he is the fly, trying to escape.

ReplyDeleteI like that you showed Beloved as leech on the emotional bond Sethe could give her, and it loans the idea that the relationship is toxic for Sethe
